The Family Nose
In the last couple of days, there have been several comments on this blog about Sophia looking like my mother. That’s just crazy! Sophia and my mother look nothing alike. Why would anyone marry someone who looked like his mother? That would mean… that this person wanted to… that… I just can’t even put the words together because it is so unspeakable.
Whatever.
Sophia and my mother don’t look anything alike. Really. None of us think it is true. If anyone looks like my mother, it is me. The proof is in the photo on top, taken at the Dominican coffee shop where we ate breakfast this morning.

I’m with you, Neil. You look like your mom, Sophia doesn’t.

Hey, in THAT photo she/they did. In this photo YOU do, but of course I would expect that.
It isn’t really that odd for a spouse to closely reflect a parent in looks, personality, style.

I think it is a toss up! The three of you look alike! (lol)
A Merry Christmas, my dear….Hope you have a swell day!

You look like your mom — and a bit of your dad.
It’s really obvious in the first picture of your last post. Now I see where you get your great smile from!

OK, so I’m not crazy, and other people have also noticed the resemblance between Sophia and your mom! : )

I agree that you look just like her. And I love birth noses. Merry Christmas, Neil! Hope you are having a great time in NY.

And why are you so dang funny?
By LVGurl on 12.24.07 11:26 am
I don’t see it. But it’s sweet that you think so, no?

Neil,
I hate to say this when you’re away from your therapist… but….but…I…think you’re adopted!

OK…the photo of your Mom and Dad at the tiki lounge says it all. Looks like your Mom was a bit younger than Sophia is now in that pic. The resemblance is uncanny. I am an artist, I notice these things. You have excellent taste in women, Neilochka! Happy Holidays to ALLLLL of you!

is that a hat or your hair?
By tamar on 12.25.07 8:31 am
Ummm maybe it’s just that they are beautiful? I think that’s what they mean.
Happy Christmas Neil

I wish I could embrace it, but have inherited my nose from the Italian side of my family. I try to hide my profile whenever posible
By merrymishaps on 12.25.07 9:01 pm
Of course, I mean “possible.” It’s Christmas, I may have had some wine …
By merrymishaps on 12.25.07 9:02 pm
Tamar, that is what my hair looks like when I take off my $3.99 winter hat.
By Neil on 12.26.07 12:56 am
It’s a good thing you have facial hair because otherwise I’m not sure I could have distinguished between the two of you!! My son looks like me as well, so I guess that’ll be us in thirty years or so!! Happy non-denominational holiday!!

you all three look alike.
All beautiful.
It is in the heart
that look of happiness
and love.

I really like this photo of you and your mom.

Hmmm…I know I’m new to your blog…and haven’t read ALL your posts…but based on the few pics I’ve seen scrolling…they do look a little bit alike. But you look like your mom too. So maybe you didn’t marry someone who looks like your mom…rather you married someone who looks like you. Does that help? No?
