Oprah, Oz - Oz, Oprah
I thought the watercooler TV event of the week was going to be the "Fallen Idol" Paula Abdul story, but I was wrong. It was Dr. Mehmet Oz’s appearance on Oprah, which my mother insisted I Tivo. His book (co-written with Dr. Michael Roizen), "You, The Owner’s Manual," is already a bestseller because of the show, even knocking Harry Potter off the charts.
According to HarperCollins associate publisher Libby Jordan, the print run for "YOU" has been increased from 145,000 to 350,000.
It was actually an extremely informative show about your health. After watching Oxygen’s "Oprah After the Show, I made myself a snack of two baby aspirins covered with tomato sauce. (Dr. Oz, a professor of surgery and director of the Cardiovascular Institute at Columbia University, is a big proponent of baby aspirin and tomatoes).
I’m also glad Columbia got some good buzz after this trash story (also here).
